4 dead after plane crashes in Florida swamp

At least four people died when a small plane crashed in a remote rural area of Florida Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Officials said the private plane went down in the Tiger Creek Swamp near Lake Wales around 12:40 p.m. The area is southeast of Lakeland in central Florida.

The area is not accessible by ground without specialty?vehicles. The Polk County Sheriff's Office is using four-wheelers and have used helicopters to fly in law?enforcement?and medical personnel.


The cause of the crash has not been?determined.
