Santa Barbara - The Barbara Ireland Walk for Breast Cancer Research begins, rain or shine, at 8:30 am on March 17th. It is a 10-mile walk/run along a scenic beach route.

Participants are invited to stay for a lunch and a celebration following the walk.

Pre-sale participant registration is $50 through February 29 and $60 for those who register March 1st, through the morning of the event. Registration is waived for those who raise $100 in pledges.

Approximately 2.4 million women in the United States are living with breast cancer and on average a woman living in the U.S. has a one in eight chance of developing invasive breast cancer during her lifetime.
